12th Annual Duck Races

It’s that time of year, again! We offer the opportunity to promote your business and Organization while supporting the Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club programs for the youth, elderly and economically disadvantaged of our community. Thanks to your support of the Duck Races last year, we raised over $14,000 for these programs.

This year, our new format is intended to increase the visibility of our decorated full-sized ducks, formerly known as “Sponsor Ducks.”

First: The emphasis of the event is the competition of the decorated ducks. It will be on Friday evening, October 6^th downtown on Bridge Street. We intend to draw a good crowd. Each duck will be displayed and shown “Westminster Dog Show” style with the sponsor name repeated frequently.

Second: There will be categories with a winner of each category. Commercial (Retail and Business services); Hospitality (Lodging and Restaurants, Sports and Activities); Homes (Builders, Trades and Realtors); Professionals (Lawyers, Medical, Accountants, Bankers); Public Sector (Government, Police, Fire, etc.) and Beloved MUTTS (Everyone Else). Personal Ducks may also enter their respective categories.

Third: The Best of Show Duck will be displayed at the Chamber of Commerce, and be the “Guest of Honor” at major events promoting your business for an entire year.

Fourth: We will hold a raffle, replacing the “swimming” ducks. The winners will be announced on the spot at the event in Downtown. A total of $2500 in prizes will be awarded and a MAXIMUM of 2,000 tickets will be sold. Each decorated duck will have 5 Raffle ducks bundled with the Purchase Price.
