Another
SpeakEasy
goes into the annals of fun and fund-raising success stories.
Many thanks to all of the
attendees, sponsors and auction item donors, but especially to all of the
Sunrise Rotarians whose dedication and hard work made this year's event such a
success.
Planning for
SpeakEasy 2009
begins Tuesday.
Our
Town of Truckee was
established in 1863 and incorporated in 1993. With a population of
15,000, it is located at an altitude of 5,980 feet (1,823 meters) in the
Sierra Nevada mountains of California, 12 miles (19 kilometers) north of
Lake Tahoe.
Blessed with ideal summer
and winter weather - 300 days a year of sunshine and 206 inches average
snowfall - Truckee is the center of a vast recreation area
offering a variety of activities from water skiing to snowboarding.
The Truckee Sunrise Rotary
Club has been an integral part of this community since 1993, pursuing our
mission of providing volunteer and financial support to
the youth, economically disadvantaged, and elderly of our local, national
and international communities.
The
Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club is Club Number 29467 and a part of Rotary District 5190. As of June, 2005,
there were 2,590 club members in the 50 clubs of District 5190, 30 clubs in
California and 20 clubs in Nevada.
